CURRENT GROUND CONDITIONS FOR THE PACIFIC CREST TRAIL (PCT – WA, OR, & CA)
Attached are the latest satellite weather images from NOAA. Each image below represent the current ground (snow) conditions throughout the western sea-board of the United States. Specifically highlighted is the Pacific Crest Trail (marked in dark blue).
The snow levels for 2017 are unprecedented. We have seen record levels of snow fall throughout the Cascades and Sierra Nevada mountains. Subsequently it will make travel through the PCT very challenging during my trek. I will be updating these maps on a monthly basis to give you a better understanding of the weather conditions I will face on this journey.
