DONATION UPDATE: 17% achieved
TOTAL DONATIONS: $17,760.00 (click here to see donation page)
TARGET GOAL: $100,000
As of this report Operation Awakening II – The Long Patrol, has achieved 17% of its target goal. 100% of the contributions goes directly to The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund (501c3). The current total was achieved by good old fashion grass-roots fund-raising. Its has been 9 months since OPA II has kicked off operations and we stand at 17% of OUR goal. I do emphasize the word OUR. Because with out all of you I would not be at the current balance WE have achieved. OUTSTANDING!!!
CORPSMAN LEVEL DONATIONS ($500 above)
I list these contributions under the “Corpsman Donation” level. The Corpsman donation is the highest contribution recognized by Operation Awakening. The reason for calling it the “Corpsman” donation is that a Corpsman on a patrol is the number one lifesaving element in an operation. Without a Navy Corpsman on a patrol some marines would never have made it home. The Corpsman is the tip of the spear when it comes to recovery. He is the one who ensures the marine gets the attention needed for dust off to continue the life saving process. Bottom line, The Corpsman is the bravest brother of the battlefield. The level of sacrifice that the Corpsman make to keep brothers alive once the call is screamed out, is as if god himself sent that man to save that downed brother.
So using that same mindset the following people have become the Operation Awakening Corpsman contributors – with your donations you have breathed life into my Operation.
Darryl Cloud – I cannot speak high enough of this man. Its people like Darryl, Renee Martin, Lee Ann Starkley who have made selfless efforts to get OPA standing up and moving forward. Your efforts are head and shoulders above all, and I cannot thank you enough
Darryl and I met while he was riding his bicycle (solo) from Paris Island SC to Camp Pendleton CA to raise money for The Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. If anyone knows how difficult it is to raise money for this cause its Darryl and myself. With Operation Awakening Darryl has done it again. He has taken it upon himself to campaign for OPAII. After much campaigning he has single-handedly assisted in bringing in (approx) $10,500 in outside donations. SEMPER FI is not just our moniker its a way of life. Darryl Cloud has proved it in spades.
Mark Wieser – $10,000.00 WOW!!! I have never received such a large donation while fund-raising for both OPA I and OPA II. Mark has made similar donation to the IMSFF during Darryl’s fund-raiser in 2013. Mark was informed of my operation through Darryl Cloud. His donation has helped my patrol morale in more ways than he’ll ever know. Mark Wieser I cannot thank you enough. You have resuscitated life back into my patrol and I now move strongly into this patrol with your contribution. Semper Fi Mark Wieser!
Eddy Flores & Marine Corp League DET 993 & Ladies Aux (Springfield MO) – $500.00 Once again Marine Corps League Detachment 993 (and its ladies Aux) out of Springfield MO has come through for Operation Awakening! This MCL (det 993) is one of a few MCL wh0 has donated to my operation. I sure do wish others would follow their lead. SEMPER FI MCL 993 and you will always be close to my heart.
Sean Ward – $1,000.00 My reconnaissance brother Sean Ward has once again made his contribution known to OPA II. In Sept Sean donated his FIRST $1,000 donation. Sean Ward understands what it means to be our brothers keeper. Sean and I served with 2d Reconnaissance Bn back in the day. He and I do these things for our brothers and sisters because we understand their plight. We understand what it means to be there for the brother on our left and right. Sean Ward exemplifies the Reconnaissance moniker of “Never above you, Never below you, Always beside you”. Semper Fi brother.
Jim Tuomey – $500.00 My REAL brother James has come through like he did during my first Operation Awakening. I remember has a young marine coming home to see my family during holidays. My brother James has always held my time in service in high regard. He has married a wonderful woman (Liz) and now are enjoying their first child (Nicole). With all that life has thrown at my brother and sister in-law they have always ALWAYS remembered our returning warriors. SEMPER FI LIL Brother.
FIRE TEAM DONATIONS (Below $500.00)
Operation Awakening lists the “Fire Team” donation as a contribution between 1 and 500 dollars. The United States Marine Corps considers the Fire Team the most lethal weapon in the US arsenal. A great marine once said, “the fire team is the most deadly weapon in the US Marine Corps. But more important than its lethality is the fire teams reliability”. What the General was referring too is that all the other weapon platforms can fail, but the US Marine Rife Team will always be there. ALWAYS THERE..
The Fire Team donation’s that our operation has received are the core assets that keep this operation moving forward. It’s the anonymous $10.00 donation every week or every other week that helps. Or the donation from returning contributors that let in the light of hope toward my goal. No matter what the donation level please keep coming. I thank the following people for their Fire Team donation.

As I June approaches I have renewed hope for Operation Awakening reaching its target goal of 100k. The donation from Mark Weiser was huge to get us into the next bracket (above 15%). Our next bracket is at 25% and I feel this can be reached by May. Please help me spread the word about Operation Awakening II The Long Patrol. It will take a real effort from everyone to carry their weight. If you’ve already contributed then you are on this patrol to see it through to the end. I cannot thank you enough for your contribution and effort in spreading the word of my Operation Awakening.
